Landscape Artists at LePrince Gallery
The LePrince Art Galleries in Charleston, South Carolina features over thirty oil painters, many favoring Landscape paintings. Below you can read more about these landscape artists, their style of painting and how they became the professional painters they are.
At the LePrince Gallery you can find everything from representational impressionistic landscape oil paintings featuring a soft moody tonal palette to bold contemporary abstract landscapes crafted with thick (impasto) vivid oil colors and textures.
Landscape Artist Kevin LePrince
Kevin began his career in finance with Morgan Stanley but spent his nights and weekends painting in the studio of Charleston's prominent impressionist artist, John Carroll Doyle. LePrince studied art in New York at the Arts Student League and New Mexico at the Fechin Institute but is primarily self-taught. In 2003, LePrince left banking to pursue his art career full-time. LePrince's art quickly became a topic of feature stories in many art magazines, including American Art Collector, Art Mag, Charleston Style and Design, Art Galleries and Artist of the South, and Southwest Art Magazine.

Curt Butler Landscape Painter
His style and work aim to have multiple approaches that speak to the tradition of layering oil paint in technique and layering intent towards the viewer. Butler’s work from a distance commands the space of any room with the mood of color, composition, and iconic imagery. As we approach, the expression in the application, brush, and knife work speak louder, and we begin to see the mark making reflect the subject in raw form. Upon final inspection, we are left with a hint in title towards the artist’s origin of intent while reflecting for ourselves both complexity and simplicity of metaphor.
Deborah Hill Landscape Painter
Deborah is a classically trained painter, having earned a BFA with a concentration in painting. Working in studio and Plein air, she divides her time between upstate NY and Seabrook Is SC. Her art conveys a sense of familiarity via the subject matter, utilizing the interjection of abstract elements by means of color, brushwork, and paint application.

Marc Anderson Landscape Artist
Marc was born and raised in central Wisconsin in the Rockwellian town of Wild Rose. He has three brothers and no sisters, much to his mother’s chagrin. Marc’s parents were abundantly supportive of his and his brothers’ endeavors, creative or otherwise. Marc began working as a professional artist while studying illustration at the University of Wisconsin-Stout—first as a caricature artist at a local amusement park and eventually as a freelance illustrator for various clients and publications.
Vicki Robinson Landscape Paintings
Vicki describes her style as impressionistic-realism. She feels painting is a spiritual experience. The gift of being able to express God's handiwork continues to inspire her, whether it is the beauty of fresh cut roses or the light cast on a country road.
