Caroline's sculptural ceramic work is driven by her desire to create fresh, immediate pieces that capture the viewer's attention through color, form, and surface texture. Her pieces are unique, one-of-a-kind works of art, created using a combination of techniques like hand-building and throwing on a wheel. Every vessel represents a continuous shift between surface, texture, color, and object, giving it a personal and universal contemporary touch.
Caroline's extensive vocabulary of glazes helps her achieve the intense, active surface in each piece. She combines colors, textures, and drawings using a variety of materials, such as ceramic pencil, slip, oxide, or glaze, to create a painterly surface that reflects the phenomena found in nature. Her approach to color is unique, as she considers each piece to be a canvas, applying slips, drawing with a ceramic pencil, hand-painting with brushes of varying widths, and grinding the surface with a stone to create a sublime effect. Caroline's work is a reflection of her passion for the Arts, and each piece is a testament to her artistic vision and skill.
