about Sue Dunham

"Living on a boat has deeply influenced my artwork. I am inspired by the vibrance of Florida light and I am particularly drawn to scenes of water. My abstracts encompass the flow and movement of color as if in harmony with the waves around me."

Sue Dunham has been interested in art throughout her life. One of her first jobs was painting holiday store fronts as a teenager. She minored in art and was certified as an art teacher. In addition to teaching, Sue lived on a sailboat and hosted dinner cruises with her husband in New York harbor. When her husband retired they bought a trawler and moved to Florida, where they lived for thirteen years before finding a permanent waterfront home. Sue has shown her work in galleries in New Jersey and Florida, was the president of the Art League of Fort Myers for two years, and remains active in the local art scene.
